When creating an Estimate from a Sales Template both need to have matching tax behaviour - i.e. both must be tax exclusive or tax inclusive. In version 42.0 the inc/ exc button was removed from invoices, this means that all invoices will follow the financial setting "Invoices include TAX by default". If a sales template doesn't match the site setting you will receive a similar error. The new estimate screen also follows this setting of inc/ exc tax based on this setting.
If these are not matching the Estimate will not save and an error message will populate with the following-
- Failed to add sales template: Error: The sales template is tax inclusive(exclusive) and the estimate is tax exclusive(inclusive). Different tax behaviours can create financial discrepencies, please set the sales template to the site tax behaviour.
To resolve this, please open your Sales Template, click on Tax subtotal of the template to change to inclusive/exclusive as need and then click Save.
You can now create an Estimate from Sales Template in the correct tax behaviour status and save. Please see the below attached video for a guide on how to achieve.
You can find a detailed step by step guide how to do this on our Help Documentation portal - HERE
